It’s that time of year! We’re breaking out the fancy flatware, spot cleaning those wine glasses or maybe just bringing out a few family heirlooms to dress up your table (which I love to do btw!).
This November I’m bringing out a three post series of Table Setting inspiration that are all fantastic for the holidays. They are all inexpensive, central around using what you have (including mismatched plates!) and creating something that is uniquely YOU without anything too prim and proper. I think your table setting should be gorgeous with still being approachable, ya know what I mean?!
This Holiday season we will be breaking out a Traditional Thanksgiving, Bohemian Fall and today’s look of “Botanical Harvest”!

Clear Glass & Neutral Plates
A minimal table means minimal detail. Don’t go over board on the color with your main pieces. When it comes to glass, flat and tableware go with neutral colors and natural details rather than a bright palette and metallic touches. Think clear glassware, white, grey or ceramic tableware, and clean, modern flatware. My favorite part… using beakers and scientific bottles for the florals! (Secret tip! Spotted them in the Target dollar section… oh how I love those Target finds!)
Linens
Keep your linen simple and use sparingly. Using too much linen will easily go from a minimal natural look to a more traditional style table setting. Think white table cloths or using your tables natural surface. Your linen is also a good scapegoat to add in a color or two. But thats it! Don’t go overboard on a palette of 5-7 colors. Use 3 MAX!
Think Botanical instead of Floral!
When it comes to the greenery on the table draw inspiration from eucalyptus, fresh herb stems and green details. If choosing to use florals keep them in the white or pastel range. This is also where your table shines by being completely affordable!
Grab a great pair or scissors and take a walk to find some amazing greenery. I have a park up the road where I quietly forage eucalyptus from. In loo of florals I also used more natural touches of detail. Think fresh cranberries, unshelled walnuts, pears, white & neutral pumpkins.
Seamless Transition!
My favorite part about this table setting is that it can go from Thanksgiving to Christmas pretty seamlessly! Swap out those pumpkins for pinecones and you will instantly achieve those December vibes!
So beautiful! Couldn’t agree more about keeping a table setting approachable 🙂
Thank you so much Sarah! I mean after all you are still going to need some elbow room right?! Wishing you a lovely Thanksgiving.
