Happy Sunday! I am so savoring these summer Sundays for the next few weeks. The thought of only having a month left of summer makes me feel like I need to get in as many seasonal activities as possible! This Friday we went on a MEGA spontaneous trip to Las Vegas. It’s actually only a 4 hour drive but we are home bodies most of the time so it was way out of character for us. After a mega long work week last week/weekend I had a ‘what the hell’ moment and we booked a Friday night stay at the Venetian. I’m not going to lie, I was pretty excited to get my butt into a beach lounger with a big frozen margarita. The next day we drove back home and had a night out with my ladies.

I figure I’ll head back into living room hibernation once fall hits! We have gotten in a ton of fun backyard dinner parties and lots of summer swimming so we really are making the most of the season. Next month instead of our monthly dinner we are swapping it out with a backyard movie night! We are filming the whole thing so you can come along 🙂 There has been talks about maybe a family trip to Pennsylvania in September but we will see! This week we are finishing up one last big batch of summer content and then will probably brainstorm for the Fall! So wild how time goes by. How has your summer been? I would love to hear what you guys have been up to in the comments 🙂

1. Getting my hair done!
This last week I got my hair done! Which is totally wild because the last time I really died my hair was five years ago and the time before that was in 8th grade. I have never been big on it but I’ve been really wanting to switch it up for summer! I am SO pleased with how it turned out. I went to my hair stylist Brittany, in Old Towne Orange at Salon 9. We actually swapped her family portraits for a balayage. I told her I wanted a very ‘sunkissed look’ and to have the whole look feel very natural. She really hit the nail on the head and I am loving my new summer look!

2. Volkswagon thing!
I have recently become obsessed with this, thing. Yes, a thing. This volkswagon thing is the car’s actual name and I think I need a white one in my life. I mean how cuuuuute would this be in photoshoots?! The only thing is I might have to bed my Dad for some manual car lessons. I can’t drive a stick to save. my. life.

3. Film day!
Last weekend we had a huge film day with Inspo Productions! We filmed six different videos. Some recipes, some lifestyle and some gatherings! I am sooo excited to see how they turned out. Our last batch was so fun and filming videos is so fulfilling. I always feel like I’ve worked super hard to make them beautiful and when you finally see them it’s like all of your hardwork comes together. I have also realized I have the best army of friends that were at the house literally helping me cook and clean all day. Thank you friends! The videos should be out in a few weeks so stay tuned!

5. Wedding in Grand Lake, CO
Last month, I went to Grand Lake Colorado for a weekend with Jared, my Dad and my Grandpa. We went to celebrate my cousins wedding. My family was attending and I was photographing the wedding. It was a nice mixture of work and play and I loved watching my family have a good time. It can be hard being the ‘photographer’ in the family but I was happy I could capture some great moments that would live on in our family. Below are a few of my favorite shots from the wedding. If you are ever in need of a great photo book from a special occasion, Artifact Uprising is second to none. The books they produce are stunning and will last you a life time

6. Purely Elizabeth Magazine Photoshoot
Every season we shoot a new batch of photos for one of my favorite clients: Purely Elizabeth! Purely Elizabeth is a grain and gluten free granola based company and for the last year I have helped them elevate their brand with custom content to fit their visual image. I love working with these ladies and creating clean, and inspiring content. This summer we featured a ‘Summer Cookout’ shoot for their summer digital magazine. You can grab all the full magazine here!

7. NEW Mojito video
We launched another new video last week with Master of Mixes for this fun DIY mojito bar! The bar featured easy ways to create a mojito bar filled with fresh ingredients. Will, the cinematographer is such a legend behind the camera and always creates the most beautiful videos for me. He filmed this video and this video too
