This summer I sipped on these root beers poolside quite a bit and I’m still relishing in how good it is. Being a food blogger of course I couldn’t just leave it alone in all it’s glory. I had to turn it into a boozy root beer float. Top this with the bourbon drizzle and you will probably watch some people lick that mason jar clean.

Not Your Father’s Root Beer Float

1 Bottle of Not Your Father’s Root Beer (found in most liquor stores)
3 Large Scoops of good Vanilla Bean Ice cream
1 Shot of Bourbon or Whiskey (optional but… necessary)

for the brown sugar bourbon sauce
3 Tablespoons of Unsalted Butter
1/4 Cup of Brown Sugar
Pinch of Salt
1 Shot of your Favorite Bourbon or Whiskey

Fill a mason jar with vanilla ice cream, add in shot of bourbon or whiskey, fill with Not Your Father’s Root Beer.

In a small sauce pan whisk brown sugar, salt and butter together on medium-low heat until sugar is dissolved. Add in shot of bourbon and whisk until smooth. Top over root beer float.

Elizabeth, these look absolutely stunning. And sounds delicious! I'd be one of those people licking the jar clean!

I really didn't like Not Your Father's at all straight up. I found it cloying and not carbonated enough, but I can imagine how much a scoop of ice cream and that dreamy bourbon sauce would improve it. Yum!
