In the shower…

In the car…

When I’m feeling a little lost…

On the couch…

Walking the dog…

At the gym…

While I’m in the kitchen…

There are very little places where I wouldn’t listen to a podcast! Do you guys listen to podcasts? I will admit that podcasts are something relatively new in my life (the last year or so). Along with instacart (never going to the grocery store AGAIN!) this is hands down one of the more life changing things that my phone does for me. There are so many inspiring, funny, influential and wonderful people in the podcast universe.

Working from home and working primarily alone, means that I can go days and even weeks without a proper ‘work’ conversation with someone. This is something that plenty of entrepreneur friends warned me about before taking the blogging leap. There were times over the last year where I felt like I was in a creative slump or lacking energy for the task at hand. When you work for yourself you’re pretty much the only person that can talk yourself up and get motivated again. There are no pep talks with your boss or team collaboration meetings. Listening to business, creative and advice podcasts has given me the boost I need on those tough, dragging days.

Finding the right podcasts for blogging, business, social media and life have given me a new perspective on this world. Cheesy, I know. Over the last year I have found some incredible speakers that have helped grow my business, my blog and my view point. I’ve singled out 5 of my favorites that I listen to on rotation and I think you will find them just as charming. Comment below with your favorite podcasts, I would love to hear who you listen to!

1. Jenna Kutcher: Goal Digger Podcast

Jenna’s podcast is all about mini marketing learning sessions and interviews with other gurus in the photography, marketing and blogging world! I truly feel that after every episode I have learned something that will help better myself or my business. Jenna’s mini marketing sessions vary from how to better your instagram presence, use pinterest to drive traffic to your blog and how to create a strong brand and image for yourself. Her tone of the show is very real and she holds nothing back. I basically feel like I am listening to a best friend teach me how to better my business.

Jules Solomon is the voice behind the influencer podcast, a show that showcases everything you need to know about influencer marketing… aka the wild wild west. Influencer marketing is STILL being discovered and defined and Jules is one of the leading pioneers of the new world. Her podcast takes you behind the scenes with leading influencers, bloggers and industry elites on how they grow their unique influence. Jules has had some amazing guests over her podcast seasons and she was one of the first marketing podcasts that I started listening to. She is a southern belle and isn’t afraid to get down to business. She keeps the whole show super real and is extremely relatable.

This is the podcast that I tune into if I need something a little light hearted. They aren’t afraid to drop the F-bomb and discuss just about everything. 4. My Domaine: Second Life Podcast

The Second Life Podcast is hosted by Hillary Kerr and packs some heavy hitters in the entrepreneur industry. Hilary has interviewed some highly influential people from Jessica Alba, Lauren Conrad, Candace Nelson and Emily Henderson. While I love a podcast interview with influencers and even micro influencers it’s always interesting to hear what’s going on with Mandy Moore’s home renovation and her Princess Diary Dyas and the early attempts at the Honest Company with Jessica Alba. If you want to feel like you’re having coffee with some highly influential women, take a listen!

5. Bjork Ostrom: Food Blogger Pro Podcast

Bjork is the host behind The Food Blogger Pro Podcast and husband to Lindsay Ostrom of Pinch of Yum. Together they worked together to grow Lindsay’s blog, Pinch of Yum into a 7-figure business and they are also probably some of the nicest people on the planet and I have never even met them. They genuine-ness just overflows in all of their writing and especially in Bjork’s podcast. He is one of the only ‘technical’ people that I can actually listen to and enjoy. He covers tops like productivity, good business practice and has interviewed some of my favorite bloggers in the industry! His podcast is great for industry insight and learning from the pro’s through genuine interviews!
