TheCollegeHousewife.com: Out with the old, in with the new!

New year, New look!

Seems to be a trend around here, ha! Every year since 2013 I have gave the blog a refresher and this year we kicked it up a notch! If you didn’t know I have had an instagram (@college_housewife) long before I started the formerly, The Whisking Kitchen (my original blog platfrom).

I started The Whisking Kitchen because I realized how important having a blog was as a food instagrammer. Not only do people want to see your photos but they want the recipes! So The Whisking Kitchen was born. It was beautiful and a little too sophisticated. I created two different brands unknowingly and I desperately needed a dish of cohesiveness and a side of whimsical.  As any good thing you realize change is good and to go with your instincts. While I loved having two different platforms I was starting to realize that people were a little confused on how everything meshed together.

Sometimes you just have to roll with the facts and realize what works. We decided to change things up a little and keep everything CH through out all platforms. Promise everything will still be just as stylized and delicious!

I also felt as if The Whisking Kitchen had some boundaries. If I did anything out of the kitchen it could come across as off brand (content that doesn’t stay true to your identity, pretty much), which has never been the goal. When I started my original platform I had every intention of posting more than just delicious recipes, but also inspiring lifestyle content. Entertaining and table design is like DEEPLY rooted inside of me. I love it! I also love interior design and DIY projects too. Which led me to the reason that I needed a platform that would be more diverse. And more colorful! If you’re still reading this… major high five to you. Thank you for sticking around and understanding more about this little world of mine. 

Which is what we have done. We added new sections such as ‘Gatherings’, ‘DIY’, ‘Set the Table’ and so many more exciting new content channels to come! While recipes will still be the root of the site, everything will be a bit more balanced. We have also added a color scheme which I LOVE! I finally feel as if I grabbed the blog by it’s ear and said “look, this is me and I know sometimes I have a creative identity crisis every now and then but this is it, no more messing around” ha! 

Thank you to all of you that stayed and read my entire rant. Each and everyone of you are why this blog has grown into what it has and I am eternally grateful!
