Today I’m going to teach you how to build a pancake board! These pancake boards are a take on the well-loved ‘charcuterie board‘ and are filled with pancakes, fresh berries, spreads, and lots of maple syrup.
A huge thank you to ALDI for sponsoring this post, all opinions are my own 🙂
I think we can all agree that this Easter is definitely going to feel a bit different this year. Even though there is an unsurmountable of heavy things weighing on us in life this season, the glass half full in me remains to feel grateful for what we have.
I’ve never been more grateful for our cozy little home (and kitchen) than I have in the last month.
We’ve had epic pizza nights, boring sandwiches for dinner, and quite a bit of cereal. With Easter on the horizon, I wanted to make sure that we still made the most of it.
We won’t be able to cook up a big Easter ham with our family this year, but it didn’t mean that we couldn’t have a mini Easter celebration with just the two of us (three counting Rascal).
More often than not we make pancakes on Sunday morning, so I thought I’d stick to our favorite breakfast but make it feel extra special. When ALDI asked me to share a fun brunch recipe, I knew a pancake board would be perfect for us. Times are a little crazy these days, but I know I can turn to ALDI for an awesome selection of brunch items. Everything we got for our pancake board was super affordable, high quality and made brunch feel extra special.
Ingredients for a Pancake Board:
- pancakes
- bananas
- raspberries
- blueberries
- strawberries
- bacon, sausage or ham
- butter
- Simply Nature Organic Creamy Peanut Butter
- Specially Selected 100% Pure Maple Syrup
- white or dark chocolate chips
How to build a pancake board:
- The set up: Grab a large cheese board or serving platter, 1-2 syrup pourers and a few bowls for toppings.
- Prep your pancakes: Whip up a batch of your favorite pancakes or pick up a pack of Aunt Maple’s Buttermilk Pancake and Waffle Mix from ALDI if you’re short on time! Add pancakes to your board last so they stay fresh and warm. See below my easy tip for keeping pancakes warm while you prep the rest of your pancake board!
- Pick a few spreads: Jared loves peanut butter so we had a big bowl of Simply Nature Organic Creamy Peanut Butter but spreads like hazelnut spread, cookie butter, whipped cream and even jam work great too.
- Breakfast meats: I went with classic Appleton Farms Bacon but you could also do sausage, ham, lox, or even some scrambled eggs.
- Maple syrup! And lots of it!
- Fresh fruit: I did a medley of berries, ALDI has a great selection! Peaches, sautéed apples, and bananas also work great.
- Toppings: The opportunities are endless. Chocolate chips, nuts, sprinkles, powdered sugar, and more!
Pancakes:
You can really use any pancake recipe or mix. Cook them up on a griddle with lots of butter.
To keep pancakes warm, preheat oven to 200 F and place the pancakes on a baking sheet. Cover tightly with foil and place into the oven until serving.
Other Great Breakfast Recipes:
- Banana Nut Bread with Chocolate Chips
- Strawberry and Cream Overnight French Toast
- Carrot Cake Cinnamon Rolls
- Classic French Crepes with Banana and Nutella
