Today I am creating something for you that I have never done before!
THE. TROPICAL. CHEESEBOARD.
Which is actually just a gorgeous platter of sunshine on a cheeseboard. This Hawaiin themed board has been on my bucket list for quite some time. If you’re new around here you know I’m in love with cheeseboards. I like moody cheeseboards, his and hers cheeseboards and even cheeseboards inspired by other countries.
You name it and I pretty much could turn it into a themed cheeseboard.
When Boars Head came to me and asked if I’d like to help launch their Bold Aloha Sunshine Turkey Breast I knew it would be the perfect accompaniment to my themed cheeseboard!
What to put on a tropical cheeseboard:
If you can put together a regular cheeseboard then you can certainly give one with a tropical twist!
This cheeseboard consists mostly all your standard items: cheese, crackers, nuts, meats, etc but with a tropical spin. If you’re choosing crackers, go with something seedy that is studded with dried mangos. When picking nuts I would 1,000% recommend macadamias for this! Boars Head Bold Aloha Sunshine Turkey Breast bursts with tropical flavor. It makes for SUCH an interesting bite.
The key component to a tropical-themed cheeseboard is the FRUITS! Go a little crazy!
Not only will this bring out some amazing tropical flavors but it will make the entire board look super colorful and fun!
How to assemble a tropical cheeseboard:
Board / Platter: Choose a large cheeseboard or a serving platter. Rectangle shapes are my favorite but any large surface will work!
Small bowls: Choose 2-3 small bowls or plates to put some ingredients in. This helps give the board a bit of structure and anchoring points.
Cheese: Choose 2-3 kinds of cheeses. Make sure to cut or serve each wedge a bit different for some texture. My favorite cheese tip is brining the cheese out of the fridge an hour before serving. This will bring out the true flavor of the cheeses.
Meats: Either cube or ribbon slices of Boars Head Bold Aloha Sunshine Turkey Breast in 1-2 sections of the board.
Fruits: A variety of tropical fruits! Think mango, pineapple, papaya, kiwi, and watermelon for great color and flavor.
