Happy Sunday and Happy Galentines!

Do you celebrate Galentines?! I’m really all for any excuse to get your girlfriends together for a night.

I’m always up for a night to indulge in a little Sparkling Strawberry Champagne Sangria! Valentine’s Day isn’t really too fun to spend by yourself so if you don’t have a Valentine, I think having a ladies get together is totally necessary. I used to do it myself before Jared and I started dating.

This usually consisted of cupcake decorating, cheesy movies and maybe dinner at home.

It’s basically a glorified sleepover but for a fun reason. Now we have more ‘adult’ get-togethers and have swapped cupcakes with sangria and that’s A-okay in my book.

Ingredients for Strawberry Champagne Sangria:

  • freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, strained
  • pomegranate juice
  • St. Germain elderflower liqueur
  • vodka
  • pink or regular champagne
  • grapefruit slices
  • strawberries
  • lemon slices
  • pomegranate seeds
  • fresh mint leaves

Today’s sangria recipe is sparkly, pink and everything Galentines related. It’s an instant mood booster in more ways than one.

I love regular wine-filled sangria, but I am also a HUGE champagne lover. It seems like most people aren’t really into champagne as much as I am but I think it’s such fun!

Sometimes I’ll seriously crack a bottle open for myself on a Saturday night.

I also love this sangria because there’s no wait time!

You will just stir together the citrus juices and St. Germain, top it off with a whole bottle of champagne!

Normally for traditional sangria, there is a little wait time but this pitcher cocktail gets the night going right away! Citrus fruits are in their prime during the winter season and should totally be incorporated into your cocktails for the next few months!

How to make Sparkling Strawberry Champagne Sangria:

  1. In a large pitcher add all fruits and top with grapefruit juice, pomegranate juice, St. Germain, vodka, and mint leaves.
  2. Stir the mixture well and chill for 10 minutes if some ingredients were not cold.
  3. Just before serving add in a bottle of your favorite champagne! Be sure to serve with a large spoon so each glass has a few fruit slices.

Ice, Ice, Baby! … Should I add ice to my sangria?!

My honest answer, no. I think it waters sangria down horribly but if you must just add a couple of cubes into the glass right before serving, never add ice directly to the pitcher! I’ve also used frozen strawberries that help keep everything ice cold too!
