This Maple Old Fashioned Cocktail is a moody autumnal twist on the classic. Maple syrup mixed with bitters pairs so perfectly with smooth and smoky bourbon. Mix this cocktail up and pour it over ice for a delicious way to end your fall days.
Why You’ll Love This Maple Old Fashioned Cocktail
Even though I thoroughly enjoy blackberry bourbon smash cocktails all spring long, something about the fall season makes me start craving bourbon something fierce! The smooth, oaky, and rich flavors start calling to me, and since I’m not a fan of straight-up bourbon, I enjoy an Old Fashioned every once in a while.
This fall, however, it’s time to take things up a notch! By adding maple to this classic cocktail you get a sweet and creamy flavor that simply can’t be beat. This Maple Old Fashioned is a chic fall-inspired cocktail to warm your chilly nights.

FAQs
Why is maple syrup good in an Old Fashioned?
It’s so good because an Old Fashioned is made with bourbon which has notes of vanilla and caramel-y sweetness in it. The natural sugars of maple syrup complement the alcohol beautifully! Plus, it gives the drink Big Fall Energy and that’s enough for me!
What is a classic Old Fashioned made of?
The classic cocktail is made of bourbon, bitters, sugar, and an orange peel and/or cocktail cherries for garnish. The drink is then poured over ice and sipped slowly.
What’s the secret to a good Old Fashioned?
The secret is the bitters! Make sure you keep it to only a couple of dashes. If you go overboard, the balance of flavors will be thrown off entirely and the drink will not be as delightful as it should be.
