Why You’ll Love This Big Batch Espresso Martini Recipe
Everyone loves an espresso martini, but sometimes they’re daunting to serve at a party because you have to mix each drink individually. Not anymore, my friends, here’s a make ahead espresso martini!
This big batch espresso martini recipe removes the hassle of measuring out each drink one by one so you can take your bartender hat (or apron?) off and enjoy the night to its fullest. I’ve made a big batch hugo spritz recipe and big batch pomegranate margaritas before and they were a hit!
Just mix it up, refrigerate it, and let your guests shake their martinis with a cocktail shaker when they’re ready for a glass. Martini lovers rejoice!
Ingredients
This pre-batch espresso martini recipe packs a big punch, but you don’t need much to make it; Only four simple ingredients! I have measurements for both the big batch and a single espresso martini in the recipe card down below, so don’t skip it!
- Vodka
- Espresso
- Coffee liqueur
- Simple syrup
How to Make Espresso Martinis for a Crowd
Step 1: Mix Ingredients
Pour all of the ingredients into a pitcher and stir it together.
Step 2: Decant
Pour the espresso martini mixture into a large bottle, or smaller individual bottles, and store it in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.
Step 3: Serve
Pour 3-4 oz into a shaker with ice. An easy way to pour the right amount is to count to three seconds while pouring. 1-2-3 done! Enjoy your espresso martini for a crowd!
FAQs
If you store it in an airtight bottle in the fridge, your large batch espresso martini recipe can last for about 5 days! I would recommend serving it sooner than that, but if you have leftovers you certainly don’t have to waste them.
Unflavored is the most important characteristic of your vodka. You don’t want to have different (or artificial) flavors competing with the strong notes of espresso. Otherwise, I’d say to use your favorite brand of vodka! It’ll certainly be smoother if you choose a higher-end option, but you don’t have to go top shelf.
All espresso martini recipes call for coffee liqueur and, most commonly, Kahlua is that liqueur. However, some people prefer their martinis a little creamier so they use Baileys. If you go that route, I suggest keeping this recipe the same and just adding a splash of Baileys in addition to it because Baileys doesn’t have a coffee flavor that can replace Kahlua.
Serving Suggestions
Have fun with how you serve your bulk espresso martinis! Here are some tips and suggestions to make your party even more memorable.
- Set up a little drink station with glasses, an ice bucket, and a cocktail shaker so your guests can shake and pour their martinis on their own.
- Include a bowl of espresso beans for topping.
- Print (or write) a small sign explaining measurements. About 4 oz of the batched drink is perfect for a single glass.
- If you know some of your guests enjoy Baileys, but you don’t want to put it in the batched portion, provide a carafe on the table so they can add a splash on their own.
- Make espresso ice cubes to deepen the flavor and keep your martinis cold!
