Here is a Raspberry Vodka Champagne Cocktail that’s fruity, tart and bubbly with just the right amount of sweetness. Give any occasion a celebratory vibe — or make it for the loved one’s in your life on Galentine’s Day or Valentine’s Day!
Why you’ll love champagne with vodka
Bright and sweet! A little dry, a little sweet and a whole lot of bubbly, this champagne cocktail with vodka is crisp, light and refreshing. If you want even more effervescence, top it off with a splash of club soda.
Colorful and creative! A few fresh berries go a long way and grenadine contributes to that beautiful red color. Give it your own spin by swapping out the raspberries for fresh diced strawberries or extra maraschino cherries.
Perfect for V-Day! Whether you are celebrating with your girlfriends on Galentine’s Day or with your significant other on Valentine’s Day, this pretty-in-pink cocktail gives a special pop to the season. The recipe card below makes one cocktail, so be sure to multiply by 2, 3 or 4 to really make the night special.
Ingredients
Nothing pairs with champagne and vodka more than sweet-tart berries to compliment those strong, dry, crisp flavors. We will need:
- Raspberries
- Vodka
- Grenadine
- Simple syrup
- Champagne
Ingredient substitutions and notes:
- Berries: Swap out the raspberries for anything red – like strawberries or even maraschino cherries! If using strawberries, add a 1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice to give it some lift and brightness.
- Vodka: Use your favorite brand of vodka, like Tito’s, Absolut or Ketel One.
- Champagne: Splurge on a bottle of your favorite champagne – or any type of sparkling wine like Prosecco! Rose champagne further deepens that pink hue.
How to make
A good muddler and fresh berries will make all the difference when making this cocktail at home. Here’s how I like to do it:
Muddle raspberries: Add whole raspberries to a cocktail shaker and muddle together until the raspberries have released their juices. Add in the vodka, grenadine and simple syrup and shake together.
Top with bubbly: Pour contents into a cocktail glass through a fine mesh strainer. Fill the glass ⅔ with ice and top the remaining glass with champagne.
Enjoy!: Garnish with a cocktail pick filled with raspberries.
Serving suggestions
Anything that feels cute for Valentine’s Day just makes my heart spin — and this one will outshine all the rest. Serve these up in any style, such as:
- Girlfriends Galentine’s Day: Put out a bunch of easy-to-eat appetizers, like Buffalo Chicken Bites, Lemon Pepper Wings and Jalapeno Cranberry Dip.
- Valentine’s Day Dinner Date: Impress the loved one in your life with an elegant dinner of Dutch Oven Chicken, Lemon Herb Roasted Potatoes and Chocolate Orange Cake.
- Just Because: Who says you need a reason to make a cocktail? Enjoy any time the craving hits with any berry that looks fresh and in season.
Recipe tips & notes:
- Shop for super fresh raspberries. The freshest berries will be plump, vibrantly red and glossy. Avoid mushy, moldy or bruised berries.
- Invest in a muddler. If you are akin to making cocktails with muddled fruit or herbs, a sturdy muddler makes a great addition to your bar cart.
- Pick up a ‘personal popper’! Since champagne goes flat rather quickly, avoid wasting a whole bottle by picking up a few of those smaller (187 ml / 6.3 oz) champagne bottles, also known as a Champagne Split.
- Rim half the glass with superfine sugar. Totally optional, but I find it adds a nice sparkle and brings out the berries natural tart flavor.
