The new cocktail that’s all the rage on TikTok (for good reason!) is this refreshing and citrusy Corona Sunrise! Added right to the bottle of beer is tequila, orange juice, lime juice, and grenadine. Rim the bottle with tajin for a spicy kick and enjoy this beer cocktail by the pool!
Why You’ll Love This Corona Sunrise Recipe
When recipes go viral on TikTok, you know they’re good! This corona twist on the tequila sunrise is no exception! It’s fruity, citrusy, and SO easy to make. It’s the perfect beverage for celebrating Father’s Day, your next pool party, or on a hot summer day.
Recipe Highlights
- It’s a cocktail with BEER! Some people prefer a cocktail, some prefer beer – this Corona Sunrise is the perfect blend of both! Similar to a beergarita, this recipe is a classic cocktail mixed with some beer so it’ll be a real crowd-pleaser.
- This is the perfect summer cocktail! Even people who don’t love beer can acknowledge how refreshing a cold corona is. Imagine an ice-cold corona with fresh citrus flavor on a hot day by the pool – it’s a dream!
- It’s all made in one bottle! You can pour out a little bit of beer and add the rest of the ingredients to make the sunrise all in a single beer bottle. We love minimal dishes! Use the beer you poured out to make another sunrise in a glass or give it to someone who just wants a corona.
Corona Sunrise Ingredients
This recipe is made with such simple ingredients! For alcohol you’ll need corona and tequila, then a few fruity additions to make it really pop!
- Corona
- Tequila
- Tajin – for the rim
- Lime
- Orange juice
- Lime juice
- Grenadine – if you don’t like/have grenadine, check out some of my alternative suggestions below!
Ingredient Substitutions
- If you don’t have orange juice, swap it for pomegranate, grapefruit, or pineapple juice instead.
- You may be wondering if you can make a corona sunrise without grenadine and the answer is YES! Grenadine is made from pomegranates, so you can replace it with pomegranate juice or pomegranate simple syrup. If you can’t get your hands on pomegranate, you can use another simple syrup like our homemade strawberry syrup for cocktails.
- If you’re not a tequila fan, you can easily swap it for vodka!
- Also, if you don’t have limes, rim the neck of the bottle with orange and garnish with a slice as well.
How to Make This Beer Cocktail
Step 1: Tajin + Prepping the Beer
- Before removing the bottle cap on your corona, rim a lime around the neck of the beer and dip it into a bowl of tajin.
- Remove the cap and pour out (or drink!) about 2 ounces of the beer.
Step 2: Add Remaining Ingredients
- Add the tequila, orange juice, lime juice, and grenadine to the beer bottle.
- Add a lime wedge on the top and serve!

Can I make a large batch of this beer cocktail?
Absolutely, just pour the beer into a pitcher and mix everything as described in the recipe. Be careful about pouring though – it can get a bit fizzy! Then don’t forget to rim each serving glass with tajin for that extra pop of flavor.
