Why you’ll love this bruschetta recipe with goat cheese
Tart and fruity! While tomatoes are traditional, I thought I’d give an update on the classic. Strawberries provide that same juicy bite we all crave with bruschetta, with a nice dose of jammy sweetness.
Fast and fabulous! Ready to devour in less than 20 minutes, with a special finesse no one saw coming, this is a recipe for the books. Make this time and time again over the warmer months and channel your own Martha Stewart.
Perfect for entertaining! No one can turn down strawberries and goat cheese, and for good reason. A sure crowd-pleaser for al fresco dinner parties, picnics, BBQs and potlucks.

Ingredients
The ingredients for this strawberry and goat cheese bruschetta is a simple mix of easy-to-find staples at the grocery store. We will need:
- Strawberries
- Basil leaves
- Honey
- Goat cheese
- Baguette
- Olive oil
- Balsamic glaze
Measurements can be found in the recipe card below.
Notes and substitutions:
- Berries: Look for plump, glossy and bright red strawberries. Strawberries start to come in season in the Spring, around April – May, depending on where you live. Raspberries would be a great sub in the peak of summer.
- Cheese: Logs of goat cheese, sometimes labeled Chevre, are easily available in the cheese section. Go for a honey goat cheese if you want to up the honey aspect. Or, spread on this Blueberry Goat Cheese Recipe.
- Bread: I love a classic French baguette, that is easy to turn into crostini. You could also use a ciabatta or sourdough, you will just have to cut the bread into smaller pieces. If you are short on time, you can buy the premade crostini at the grocery store.
- Balsamic glaze: Balsamic glaze is basically balsamic vinegar that has been cooked down into a deep, dark and syrupy masterpiece. Look for it near the balsamic vinegar.
How to make
While goat cheese and tomato bruschetta may be delicious, I find the strawberries take it to another level. Ready in 3 easy steps, here’s how I like to do it:
Assemble strawberries: Preheat oven to 425 F. While the oven is preheating, dice strawberries and place into a mixing bowl with chopped basil and honey. Stir together to combine.
Toast baguette: Brush baguette slices with a thin layer of olive oil on one side and place onto a baking sheet. Bake for 6-8 minutes, or until lightly golden and toasty.
Top with bruschetta: Spread a thin layer of goat cheese onto each baguette slice and top with 1 tbsp diced strawberries. Drizzle with balsamic glaze and finish with fresh basil leaves for garnish.
Serving suggestions
Perfect for a party, goat cheese bruschetta with strawberries is divine served as an appetizer at parties or holidays like Easter or Memorial Day weekend, but it makes a wonderful starter when hosting dinner parties with friends.
If I am serving these at a party, I serve them alongside plenty of other finger foods, like Zucchini Corn Fritters, Lemon Pepper Wings and Shrimp Cocktail. I like to scatter platters of each one throughout the house. That way, my guests can mix and mingle while still enjoying a little something to eat.
Make ahead instructions
If you are looking to get ahead, dice the strawberries and toast the baguette 1-2 days in advance. Just refrain from adding the basil and honey beforehand, or the strawberries will macerate and break down too much.
Cover the strawberries and store in the fridge. Store the baguette in a plastic bag or airtight container at room temperature.
Recipe tips and notes:
- Bring the goat cheese to room temperature. This will soften the cheese and make it easier to spread.
- No honey on hand? Swap it out for regular sugar instead.
