You guys it’s starting to be Halloween time!! Halloween is one of those fun holidays isn’t it?! It’s like fourth of July. No stress in buying people presents (don’t get me wrong, I love buying people gifts) or making intense travel plans. Just good company and good fun.
I love getting dressed up in a good costume, eating way too much candy and cozying up with Halloweentown for a good October movie night.
When it comes to the décor and the recipes I do have some trouble getting my spook on. I think I just have a gap when it comes to spookifying a space or getting orange food coloring into a recipe. Sooo I figured I would do something that I could do well (sangria) and take inspo from one of my favorite Halloween movies, Hocus Pocus!
Ingredients for the Sangria:
- Black plums
- Blackberries
- Pomegranate aerials
- Black grapes
- Red wine, such as cabernet sauvignon
- Brandy
- Pomegranate juice
Have you guys seen Hocus Pocus?! It’s seriously so good. This is the Halloween movie of my childhood and I’m sure tons of you can relate! If you haven’t seen it, be sure to go watch it! It is a CLASSIC. You can find it here!
Hocus Pocus has led me to this spooky black sangria!
It’s filled with all the black fruits I could find, tons of red wine and brandy. If I was a Sanderson Sister this is what I would certainly be guzzling down on all-hallows-eve. This sangria is perfectly paired with a cheeseboard for your halloween get togethers.
Break out some vintage glasses to get that ultimate witchy feel! And if you’re really going all out you could serve it in a punch bowl with some dry ice behind it for that great smoky effect and you will certainly have a “witches brew” situation.
I would absolutely love to hear your favorite halloween movies and fun recipes in the comments below so we can geek out together. Seriously though your comments make my day! I get sooo excited when the comment email notification comes through my inbox. Okay ramble over!
