Why You’ll Love This Frozen Rosé Recipe

Once the summer reaches its pinnacle, my favorite thing to do is slurp on this frozen wine slushy to beat the heat. All you need is one blender and plenty of wine glasses

This whole strawberry peach frose recipe was inspired by two different things. One, my love of Slurpees as a kid makes this kind of frozen drink super nostalgic. During those hot summer months during summer vacation, I was always so excited to head to 7-Eleven with my parents after they got off work.

And two, it’s freakin’ delicious! I absolutely love peaches and try to sneak them into as many recipes as possible – hence this pie and these s’mores – and strawberries are so quintessentially summery! Trust me, strawberry and peach blended together with icy wine is the fruity flavor combo of your vacation dreams.

Simple, boozy, fruity. You’re going to love cooling off by sipping this recipe all summer long!

Ingredients

This recipe takes a little bit of preparation because you want to make sure you freeze a couple of ingredients ahead of time. You’ll also want to make your strawberry simple syrup ahead of time so it can steep and cool. While it takes a little extra prep work, the ingredients are simple and it’s all oh-so-worth it!

  • Bottle of rosé
  • Frozen Peach Slices
  • Limoncello – or your favorite clear spirit
  • Fresh peach slices and mint sprigs – for garnish

Strawberry Simple Syrup Ingredients

  • Granulated sugar
  • Water
  • Strawberries – quartered

How to Make Strawberry Peach Frosé

Step 1: Freeze Rosé and Peaches

  • The night before you make your frose, portion out the bottle of rose into ice cube molds and freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or overnight.
  • Put the peeled and sliced peaches in an airtight container (or freezer bag) and freeze.

Step 2: Make Strawberry Simple Syrup

  • In a small saucepan, heat the sugar and water on medium heat until it’s clear and the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add in the quartered strawberries and bring the pot to a soft simmer.
  • Remove the saucepan and syrup from the heat and allow the strawberries to steep for 30 minutes (longer if you want it stronger).
  • Strain the syrup from the strawberries into a jar. Secure the top on the jar and refrigerate the syrup for at least 30-60 minutes before using, or overnight.

Step 3: Make Strawberry Peach Frose

  • In a blender, combine the frozen rose blocks, frozen peach slices, strawberry simple syrup, and limoncello. Blend for 30-60 seconds, or until smooth and frothy.

Note: Do not blend the frose for longer than 60 seconds, or all your frozen ingredients will start to melt.

  • Pour the frose slushies into wine glasses and serve with fresh peach slices and mint sprigs for garnish.

FAQs

Does Rosé freeze?

Not completely – because of the alcohol content. I like to put the Rose in ice cube trays and freeze it the night before because you have to do this at least 4-6 hours before blending. Make sure you don’t blend too long so the rose can maintain a slushy texture.

How do you make a frozen drink at home?

It’s simple: by prepping and blending! Prepare the ingredients that need to be frozen and cooled the night (or even days!) before you make your frozen drink. I incorporated frozen peaches into this recipe to make it even colder so it didn’t melt as fast, and I prepped the simple syrup the night before so it could fully chill in the fridge. Then, remember not to blend too long or your ingredients will start to melt! Only blend until everything is smooth.
