Why You’ll Love This Whipped Ricotta Dip

This whipped ricotta with hot honey is a feast for the senses. Super creamy, subtly sweet, lightly lemony, with a burst of heat to pull it all together.

Cheesy appetizers are always a crowd favorite and so easy to make. I’ve made cheese dips in the past like this honey blueberry goat cheese dip (super popular!) and if you love fruit and cheese combos be sure to try this strawberry goat cheese bruschetta.

It’s super simple! This recipe is made with just five ingredients and entirely in the blender in under 5 minutes

Pair your dip with your choice of bread, crackers, chips, veggies, etc. Ricotta is a neutral enough flavor to complement a variety of dippers so you can experiment with different options. Enjoy!

  • Ricotta cheese
  • Kosher salt
  • Lemon – zest and juice
  • Olive oil

FAQs

what are some flavor variations I can make with this whipped ricotta dip?

Everyone adores this dip, and the good news is that you can adjust the recipe so you can enjoy it with different flavor profiles year-round. I think this hot honey version is great for the spring/summer, but you can also swap the hot honey for pure honey and top the dip with some strawberries. Drizzle some balsamic glaze on top, add some chives or the herb of your choice, and use nuts and cranberries in the winter.

You get the picture! You can use the whipped ricotta as your base and have fun with ingredients outside of that.

what to do with leftover whipped ricotta?

If you have more ricotta than you need, you can add it to a variety of recipes. Make lemon ricotta pancakes with it for more fluff and moisture, add it to a pasta sauce to give it a creamy texture, or make a sausage, kale, and ricotta quiche.

how do I store my ricotta dip?

This dip is best served fresh, but you can make it the morning of your event and leave it covered in the fridge until it’s time to enjoy. If you have leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

What to serve with whipped ricotta

  • Crostini
  • Grilled Bread
  • Roasted Veggies
  • Crackers
  • Pita Bread
  • On a Charcuterie Board

This dip is so well paired with a variety of drinks! I think the citrus of a blood orange martini would be delicious alongside the hot and sweet flavors of the whipped ricotta. You can also cut the heat of the hot honey with a cooling cucumber spa martini.
